Layout of a college magazine
. one image in the middle
. title isn't as dramatic
. more writing- smaller fonts- more info
typical magazine layout, full of headlines and story titles, images of celebrities.
lots of colour and cover is crowded.

college magazine doesnt have to be so full, can have space and isnt so in your face.









dont have to use a particular colour scheme


fonts/title/images etc. must in uniform layout


not neccessarilya famous person on front, can be a student/teacher etc.


different from a normal mag like "heat" ...













conventions of college magazine contents page

. heading- name of the page, tells people what the page is for
. page number- gives reader sence of direction, tells them were to go to find the pages they're looking for - title of each page in either black or red, if in red it is on front conver
. images- splits the text up, gives a clue as to what the page is about and what it is based on
. website- bottom right (again- on every page) tell reader where to find extra informtation

. Logo- bottom left corner, small, makes it recognisable
. Date- tells reader whether it is relevant to that time, keep up to date
. Headings- gives audience clues as to whats inside
. Big, bold title- attract intended audience, tells us who the audience is
. website- gives details on where to find other information
. three sub-headings at the top- another insite on what is inside
Brief
Preliminary excersise: using DTP and an image manipulation programme, produce the front page of a new school/college magazine, featuring a photgraph of a student in medium close-up plus some appropriately laid-out text and a masthead. Additionally you must produce a mock-up of the layout of the conents page to demonstrate their grasp of DTP.
Main task: the front page, contents and double page spread of a new music magazine. All images and text used must be original, produced by you- minimum of four images.
Presentation of your Work
The presentation of the research, planning and evaluation may take the form of any on, or combination of two or more, of the following:
. a presentation using slideshow software such as Powerpoint;
. a blog
. a podcast
